8 Smart Tips to Get Your Body Summer Ready

Goodbye winter! Let’s face it, in a couple of months we’ll be wearing a lot less because our wardrobe will mostly be shorts, sleeveless dresses, tank tops, and bathing suits. So if you want to show off your best assets let’s make sure you’re set up for success. With the summer season just around the corner here are 8 tips for getting your body summer ready.

1. Lighten dark patches with lemon

Dark underarms can be downright embarrassing especially when you’re wearing sleeveless tops and when taking those selfies. But dark patches don’t just happen to your arm pits. This discoloration may have been inherited especially if you have dark skin or it has also been associated with medical conditions like diabetes. But guess what? You can also get them from frequent shaving.

The good news is you can actually lighten them. The best part? You can easily make your own home remedy. You can also use it for other areas like your knees and elbows. Here’s how to get rid of dark underarms:
DIY Underarm Lightening Scrub

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup baking soda
  • ? cup hydrogen peroxide
  • ½ lemon juiced

Instructions:

  • Pour the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide in a small glass bowl.
  • Slowly pour the lemon juice until it forms into a thick paste.
  • Apply on your underarms and rub gently.
  • Let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Test on a small patch first.

Note: do not apply on broken skin or freshly shaved skin.

2. Get rid of “chicken skin”

Do the backs of your arms ever feel rough and bumpy? Well, you’re alone. Did you know that about half of the population suffers from “keratosis pilaris” those nasty bumps referred to as chicken skin. This typically happens when you’re not exfoliating on a regular basis.
When you don’t slough off those dead skin cells they plug up your hair follicles, and the result is those horrible little bumps. The solution? Pure Fiji’s Coconut Crème Body Scrub.
Why does it work? The pineapple extracts and jojoba beads gently buff away dull skin cells and unclog pores to rejuvenate your skin. Vitamin rich coconut crème and exotic nut extracts deeply moisturize and nourish – brightens and tones skin leaving it feeling smooth and revitalized.

3. Moisturize

After you take a shower or a bath make sure you always apply a Hydrating Body Lotion while your skin is still slightly damp. This way you lock in the moisture and keep your skin hydrated from the start. It’s also one of the keys to avoiding those rough bumps.

4. Find a good SPF

This is a no-brainer. You’ve heard this over and over but when the sun is out safety should be your primary goal. In addition, SPF helps with premature aging and minimizes the risk of skin cancer. You should apply your sunscreen at least 30 minutes before the sun touches your skin. Reapply at least every two hours. If you’re swimming, quickly dab the water from your skin and reapply your sunscreen immediately.

5. Use high quality natural products

Swap your basic soap for natural products like Pure Fiji’s handmade spa soap. It’s high in anti-oxidants, vitamins A, B, C, E, and Omega 3, 6, 7 and 9. A gentle, long-lasting hand-made, creamy soap made from fresh coconut milk and a nourishing blend of exotic nut extracts. A generous amount of virgin coconut oil and natural glycerin produce a luxurious, rich lather and is an especially mild cleanser for the entire body. There are plenty of heavenly, tropical scents to choose from…coconut, coconut milk and honey, frangipani, mango, noni, orange blossom, pineapple, starfruit, and white gingerlily.

6. Hydrate with body mist

Skin appearance is strictly related to water retention. Sun and wind exposure in any climate can dry out the skin. Make sure you arm yourself with Pure Fiji’s Hydrating Body Mist. With continuous water replenishment throughout the day, your skin will remain plump and healthy-looking.

Why is this body and face spray is amazing? Ngi grass helps to keep your skin hydrated for 24 hours. 8. Soothe your sunburn

No matter how careful we are in the sun, sunburn can happen – and we all know it can be uncomfortable! While you can’t undo the damage of sunburn, you can do something to help speed up the healing process and soothe your irritated, inflamed skin. Here’s how to care for sunburn overnight:

Apply Pure Fiji’s Dilo Rescue Body Gel twice a day (or more often if your sunburn is especially bad) to the affected areas. This amazing body gel contains dilo oil, aloe vera and lavender which combine to help repair, replenish and soothe your sunburned skin. It’s also perfect for insect bites!
